Ali Sa'id Nur Al-Din (born Anthony DeShawn Hill; December 8, 1968), better known by his stage name YZ, is an American rapper, record producer and entrepreneur from Paterson, New Jersey. He began his hip hop career at the age of seventeen, and opened the production company Two Tone Productions alongside Tony D.
YZ later acquired half of the company Diversity Records and released his debut single, "In Control of Things", on the label in 1989. YZ signed a production agreement with Tuff City in 1990 to release his debut album, Sons of the Father. In 1992, he signed to Livin' Large Records and released his second album The Ghetto's Been Good to Me the following year.
Since 1994, YZ has released numerous projects independently, such as the albums The Legend of Floyd Jones in 2011 and Muad'Dib in 2016. He is the CEO of Gods and Villains, an entertainment conglomerate.[1]
