Words from the Genius is the debut studio album by American Hip hop artist GZA (Under his previous stage name The Genius). It was released on February 19, 1991 through Cold Chillin' Records, Reprise Records and Warner Bros. Records. Recording sessions took place at Unique Recording Studio in New York City during 1990. Production was handled by Easy Mo Bee, Patrick Harvey, Jesse West, Prince Rakeem and GZA, with Benny Medina and Tyrone Williams serving as executive producers. It features a guest appearance by RZA (Under his previous stage name Prince Rakeem).
Words from the Genius released the singles: "Who's Your Rhyming Hero?", "Pass the Bone", "Come Do Me" and the title track "Words from the Genius". The album never charted. In 1992, GZA went to co-found the Wu-Tang Clan after the album's failure.
