Ryan Mitchell Wood (20 November 1975 - 7 March 2007), better known by his stage name Woodie, was an American rapper and producer from Antioch, California. He started his own record company in 1997 called East Co. Co. Records. In 1998, he completed work on his debut solo album Yoc Influenced, which was entirely self-produced. A year later, Ryan released East Co. Co.'s first compilation album titled Northern Expozure Vol, 1., together with executive producer D-Small.
Woodie died of a self-inflected gunshot wound in Florence, Oregon on March 7, 2007. His wife was killed in a car accident before his death, prompting the theory that Woodie suffered from depression after she died.
