Ventilation: Da LP is the debut solo and only studio album by American rapper Phife Dawg, released on September 26, 2000, by Groove Attack Productions. The album's recording sessions took place at The Cutting Room, Greene St. Studios and Electric Lady Studios in New York City, Patchwerk Studios in Atlanta, Infinite Sound Studios in Alameda, Califonia and at Fred's Tillt in Los Angeles from June 1999 to February 2000. The production was handled by J Dilla, Supa Dave West, Pete Rock, Hi-Tek, Fredwreck, Rick Rock, Allah Ricks and Jason Chung. It includes guest appearances by J.U.S. and No Name (consists of Lo, Bay-Lloyd and Snag). After releasing five albums as a member of the influential group A Tribe Called Quest throughout the 1990s, the group became estranged and its members pursued solo careers.
The album was not a commercial success, and received positive reviews from critics. It peaked at #175 on the Billboard 200, and #31 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Ventilation: Da LP spawned the singles: "Bend Ova" and "Flawless" was able to reach #4 on the Hot Rap Singles chart.
Due to Phife Dawg's death on 22 March 2016, the album is the only one to be released by him during his lifetime.
