The Ruler's Back is the second studio album by British-American rapper Slick Rick. It was released on July 2, 1991 via Def Jam Recordings and Columbia Records. Recording sessions took place at Chung King Studios, Acme Recording Studios and Power Play Studios in New York City and at Battery Studios in Chicago through August 1990 to April 1991. Production was entirely handled by Vance Wright, with the exception of one track produced by Mr. Lee and co-production from Slick Rick himself.

The album debuted at #29 on the Billboard 200 and #18 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States. The Ruler's Back released the singles: "I Shouldn't Have Done It", "Mistakes of a Woman in Love With Other Men" and "It's a Boy".
