The Pick, the Sickle and the Shovel is the second studio album by American Hip hop supergroup Gravediggaz. It was released in September 16, 1997 via Gee Street Records, V2 Records and BMG Records. Recording sessions were occurred at The Wu Mansion in New Jersey, Ameraycan Studios in North Hollywood and Firehouse Studios, Unique Recording and Paul's Coffee Shop in New York City from August 1996 to April 1997. The production input was completely handled by RZA, True Master, Darkim Be Allah, 4th Disciple, Prince Paul, Poetic, Goldfinghaz and Frukwan. It features guest appearances by Shabazz the Disciple, Omen, The Aleem Brothers, Hell Razah, Killah Priest, 9th Prince (of Killarmy), True Master and Blue Raspberry. The album has a more socially conscious sound and is considerably calmer than their debut album 6 Feet Deep released in 1994.
The Pick, the Sickle and the Shovel spawned the singles: "Dangerous Mindz" and "The Night the Earth Cried", though neither of the songs made it the Billboard charts.
