The Format is the sixth studio album by American rapper AZ, released in 2006 on Quiet Money Records and Fastlife. It features guest appearances by M.O.P. and Little Brother. Production was supplied by DJ Premier, Statik Selektah, Fizzy Womack of M.O.P. and Emile, amongst others.
The Format was AZ's first album to fail to reach the US Billboard 200. It peaked at #59 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Its lead single was "The Format", produced by DJ Premier. A special edition version of the album, featuring six new songs, was released in 2007.
