Techmaster P.E.B. (born Patrick E. Baker) is a rap producer, engineer, mixer, and label owner. While 2 Live Crew and DJ Magic Mike were the pioneers of Miami bass, Techmaster P.E.B. is the Godfather of Ultra Low Bass. In fact, the frequency of the music was so low that, despite the warning labels placed on the covers of his albums, enthusiasts didn't take heed of his warning as they played his music in their vehicles and when played very loudly, the sound was powerful enough to explode their vehicles' stereo audio speakers and the woofers to smoke. His sound and style have been compared to those of Wreckx-N-Effect, Beat Dominator (an alter-ego of Bass Mekanik), Funkmaster Flex, and Positive K. He debuted by collaborating with Priority One on the 1989 single, "Still Strokin'". His first solo single was "Listen to the Music", which was released through Newtown Music the next year. That same year, It Came From Outer Bass, his debut album, was released. In addition to recording albums under his main stage name, he'd also record albums under several, other pseudonyms such as DJ Bass Boy, Bass Extreme, Bass Outlaws, Knights of Bass , and Beat Outlaws. He has also recorded as part of the groups, Def Bass Krew and Basswerk. Under his original pseudonym, his next album, Bass Computer, was released on September 1, 1991. Three more albums were released by Newtown: It Came From Outer Bass II on June 29, 1993, Bassgasm on April 15, 1995, and his first collaboration with DJ Magic Mike, Back In Bass, on January 23, 1996. His second collaboration, Gods of Bass, was released on July 28, 1998 and via NMG Entertainment. His solo album, Bass Computer 2000 was put out by the same label on September 29th that same year. P.E.B. returned to Newtown for Suburban X, which dropped July 25, 2000. It would be a little over a decade before he came back with his next album, Tech Nolo G (The Ultimate Woofer Test) on PEB Music in 2011. His latest album, Subharmonix, appeared on Tech-Nolo-G Music Group in 2020. His second album was reissued as Bass Computer 2021 as a 2-CD deluxe edition. He would later found his own labels, P.E.B. Music and Tech-Nolo-G Music Group. Not only has he produced his own works, but he's also produced for other artists and causes.
As for his projects under various, other pseudonyms, as DJ Bass Boy, he released three albums for Newtown: 1991's I Got The Bass, 1993's King Of Quad, and 1996's Licensed To Bass. He also made three albums for Newtown as Bass Outlaws: 1992's Illegal Bass, 1994's Busted, and 1999's Outlawed Bass. As Knights of Bass, he cut two albums: 1994's Slow Jam Bass and 1999's Slow Jam Bass II. As Bass Extreme, he also cut two albums: 1995's The Ultimate Test, which was on cassette, and 1997's Crush The Competition, which was on CD. As Beat Outlaws, he dropped one album: 1997's Feel The Bass. He currently resides in Sarasota, Fl.
