Strictly Business is the debut album by American hip hop duo EPMD, released in 1988 on Fresh Records and Sleeping Bag Records. The album is known for its lighthearted party raps and funky sample-reliant production. Produced and performed entirely by duo members Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith, the album features no guest artists with the exception of their DJ K La Boss.
It peaked at #80 on the Billboard 200 soon after release and was certified Gold by the RIAA four months later. In addition, it has received much positive critical acclaim. Strictly Business is now widely considered a classic release and a seminal hip hop album.
