Soul Survivor is the debut solo studio album by American Hip hop producer and rapper Pete Rock, formely of the acclaimed Hip hop duo Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth. It was released in November 10, 1998 under Loud Records and RCA Records. Originally scheduled for release on September 29, 1998. Recording sessions took place at Greene St. Recording and Battery Studios in New York City from September 1997 to June 1998. Production was handled entirely by Pete Rock, with the exception of "Half Man, Half Amazin'" produced by Grap Luva. It includes guest contributions from Wu-Tang Clan members: Inspectah Deck, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna, O.C., Black Thought, Loose Ends, MC Eiht, Kurupt (of Tha Dogg Pound), Common, Rob-O, Prodigy (of Mobb Deep, Tragedy Khadafi, Large Professor, Kool G Rap, Vinia Mojica, N.O.R.E., Big Pun, Miss Jones, Sticky Fingaz (of Onyx), Heavy D, Beenie Man, Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz and his former partner C.L. Smooth.
Soul Survivor spawned the singles: "Tru Master" and "Take Your Time". The album peaked at #39 on US Billboard 200 and #9 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.
