Sean Pompey (born February 8, 1984), better known by his stage name Smoke DZA, is an American rapper from New York City, New York. Pompey dropped out of high school to pursue his music career. His stage name is influenced by the character Smokey from the movie Friday, and the acronym DZA stands for "Dream Zone Achieve". He initially got his start in the music industry as a ghost writer before becoming a member of the duo Smoke & Numbers. Pompey embarked on a solo career in 2008.
