Lonnie Kimble (born 3 January 1990), better known by his stage name Skeme, is an American rapper from Inglewood, California. He acquired his stage name due to his craftiness at generating money as an affiliate of the Piru Blood street gang during his high school years. Skeme pursued a career rapping in his final year of high school in 2007. He released four mixtapes in a three year period, most notably Pistols and Palm Trees which helped him first gain attention. In 2011, he released the mixtapes The Statement and Before My Next Statement.
In 2012, Skeme released his debut studio album Alive & Living independently. Skeme received attention from labels including Top Dawg, Def Jam, Roc Nation and Universal during 2013, but he instead chose to remain an independent artist. In December 2013, Skeme released his second studio album Ingleworld. He has since released two sequels, titled Ingleworld 2 and Ingleworld 3, both in 2015.
