Shorty the Pimp is the fourth studio album by American rapper Too $hort, released in July 14, 1992 on Jive Records. Recording sessions took place at One Little Indian Recording in El Cerrito and at Live Oak Studios in Berkeley from April 1991 to February 1992. It was produced predominantly by Too $hort and Ant Banks, in addition to one song produced by D'wayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Toné!. It includes guest appearances by Ant Banks, Goldy and Pooh-Man. The album title is from the 1973 blaxploitation film of the same name, and the album's introduction samples its theme song. 

Shorty the Pimp debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart with 82,000 copies sold in its first week. It was eventually certified platinum in sales by the RIAA. It is certified 2x platinum and has sold over 2,300,000 copies worldwide. The album spawned the singles: "In The Trunk" and "I Wanna to Be Free (That's the Truth)"
