Ryan Mitchell Wood (November 20, 1975 - March 7, 2007), better known by his stage name Woodie, was an American rapper and record producer from Antioch, California. He started his own record company in 1997 called East Co. Co. Records. In 1998, he released an EP, Yoc Influenced, which was entirely self-produced. Wood released his debut studio album, Demonz n My Sleep, in 2001. His final release was a collaborative album with rapper A-Wax, titled 2 Sides of the Game.
Wood died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Florence, Oregon on March 7, 2007. His wife was killed in a car accident before his death, prompting the theory that Wood suffered from depression after she died.
