Rhyme Pays is the debut album by American rapper Ice-T, released in 1987 on Sire Records. The album, especially the song "6 'N the Mornin'", is considered to have defined the gangsta rap genre, and was the first hip hop album to carry a Parental Advisory warning label, although the industry-standard explicit lyrics sticker was yet to be developed.
Rhyme Pays peaked at number 93 on the Billboard 200 music chart, and number 26 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
