Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth are an American hip hop duo from Mount Vernon, New York. They made their debut in 1991 with the EP All Souled Out, and followed with their first studio album, Mecca and the Soul Brother, in 1992. They are best known for the song "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)", which was a tribute to the deceased Troy "Trouble T Roy" Dixon, a member of Heavy D & the Boyz.
