Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth were an American hip hop duo from Mount Vernon, New York. It consists of record producer/rapper/DJ Pete Rock and rapper C.L. Smooth. They made their debut in 1991 with the EP All Souled Out, and followed with their first studio album, Mecca and the Soul Brother, in 1992. They are best known for the song "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)".
