Future Development (1997) |
No Need for Alarm is the second studio album by American rapper and Hieroglyphics member Del the Funky Homosapien, released in November 23, 1993 on Elektra Records. Recording sessions took place in April 1992 to January 1993 at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, California and Chung King House of Metal in Manhattan, New York City. The album marks a complete departure from his G-funk influenced debut and the assistance of his cousin Ice Cube. The album is primarily produced by Del himself along with A-Plus, Casual, Domino (producer), Jay-Biz, Snupe and The Stimulated Dummies.
The album peaked at #125 on the Billboard 200, #27 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. No Need for Alarm spawned the singles: "Catch a Bad One" and "Wrongplace".
The album was released to positive reviews. It has since become one of the three classic "Hiero Golden Age" albums, alongside 93 'til Infinity by Souls of Mischief and Fear Itself by Casual.
