No Limit Records was an American record label founded by rapper, entrepreneur, and CEO Master P. The label included artists such as Snoop Dogg, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac, C-Murder, Magic, Romeo, Fiend, Kane & Abel, and Soulja Slim. 1997 was a really great year for No Limit, Steady Mobb'n released their second album Pre-Meditated Drama produced by DJ Daryl & Beats by the Pound, the first single If I Could Change which was a huge success, the album debut at #2 on Billboard 200 selling a massive 500,000 units in the first week. According to DJ Daryl, Master P only had 250,000 units printed and shipped them to the stores and all the units sold out in 3 days, and DJ Daryl got a phone call from Master P praising the groups success, and Master P printed up the pre-order of another 250,000 CDs and it all sold out immediately. To date, the album has been certified 2x platinum. Mr Serv On Life Insurance was very successful selling 500,000 copies in one month. Ghetto D sells 761,000 copies in the first week, Bout It Bout It soundtrack sells 300,000 units it's first week. 1997 was a highly successful year for the label.

In 1998, no limit records would have the greatest year in hip-hop history releasing a staggering 23 albums, some reports say 29 unofficial no limit releases selling 27.6 million records in the US alone in 1998. Snoop doggy dogg now known as snoop dogg had joined the lable in early 1998 and released 3 albums with the label his biggest success being the game is 2 be sold not 2 be told sold 2 million copies in under 2 months and as of 2008 has sold 4.4 million copies in the US and over 6 million copies globally. Other platinum releases came from , C murder, silkk the shocker , Mia x , Feind, Mystikal, just to name a few. Most No Limit album were selling better than most albums on major label's. 1999 was another stellar year for the record label with 16 releases with TRU, Mr. Serv On, Silkk the Shocker, Snoop Dogg, Master P all being certified Platinum. Also, Mercedes, C- Murder, Fiend, Magic & Mac all had Gold certified albums. TRU's the Crime Family was released in 1999 with much success being certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA

Porsha, Miss Peaches, Mia-X, among others had albums slated for 1999 but never saw the light of day, but on many old websites there are many people who not only say Porsha's album was released but they have the album, and many have left comments but got no reply back, which leave speculation that this may be a (Mandela Effect).

In 2000 Master P and the 504 Boyz released the album Good Fellas on May 2, 2000 and the album sold 139,000 copies in its first week supported by 4 singles, I Can Tell (1999) Wobble Wobble (2000) Whodi (2000) D-Game (2001). The album was certified Gold on June 26, 2000, and later certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA in 2001.

Mr. Marcelo released his debut album Brick Livin and the album debut at # 49on billboard 200 selling 60,000 units in the first week, but two weeks later the album peaked at #25 on the charts. According to the rapper the album was certified Gold in just 3 weeks, Mr. Marcelo said his journey to New York City helped his albums success The album was supported by two singles, Ha Bruh (1999) and How You Like It (2000).


After years of success, No Limit began to experience financial troubles in late 1999 and filed for bankruptcy in 2003 and became defunct. Later in 2010, Master P's son, Romeo Miller, founded a newly established label in honor of the original label called No Limit Forever Records. In March 2009, Master P's net worth was $667 million dollar which made him the richest rapper in the world by that point. Master P sold the whole No Limit catalog for $200 million dollars in late 2001. To date, Master P has a net worth between $350 million and $700 million dollars.
