Nikki D (born Dayveena Nichelle Strong, September 10, 1968, in Harlem, New York) is an American rapper and lyricist. She first came on the rap scene when she contributed her song, "Let's Rap", on the 1986 compilation, King Of The Streets, credited as Nichelle Strong. After signing her first deal with Def Jam and Columbia Records, under her main stage name, she was also featured on Davy DMX's 1988 non-album track, "Clap Your Hands". She rapped on R&B/urban singer Alyson Williams's single, "My Love Is So Raw". Under the last two parts of her real name, she then joined Flavor Unit. In some capacity, she was also involved with Zulu Nation as Nichelle Strong. All of these led to her debut album, Daddy's Little Girl, being released on September 3, 1991. That same year, she appeared in the music video for Naughty by Nature's single, "O.P.P." In 1992 and '93, she recorded a couple demo cassettes, one of which is titled "Dirt All By My Lonely/Smiling Faces", the latter side featuring Young Guns Of Harlem (also known as Young Gunz, not to be confused with the Philly rap duo who were previously members of State Property). The other demo cassette is untitled and both were independently self-released. She collaborated with fellow female rappers, Paula Perry, Rah Digga, Heather B, Precious P, and Bahamadia on the 1998 single, "Six-Pack". As Nikki Strong, her song, "Heat" was included on another various artists compilation, The Takeover, from 2000. She dabbled in acting, having bit parts in the 1993, hip-hop, whodunnit comedy, Who's The Man?", and the 1999, independent, drama-thriller film, Colorz of Rage. Later, she became the marketing manager at the apparel company, Phat Fashions. Although she released several singles, released both before and after her debut, she wouldn't make and release another album for a little over two decades until 2012 when she returned to the scene with the Team Strong Mixtape, on Strong Entertainment, before she dropped out of the rap scene once again. Almost another decade would pass before she released any new material. In 2021, she released her latest single, "Goin' For It". She has a son known as ChiChiGwapGod who is an aspiring rapper himself in his own right, following in his mother's footsteps.
