New York, New York is a infamous hip-hop song created by Tha Dogg Pound featuring fellow West Coast artist Snoop Dogg, It is most famous for it's original intention on showing love for East Coast hip hop and its upcoming underground artists and later being classified as a diss-track on the entire East Coast.

Origin[]

Recorded and released on September 17, 1995, "New York, New York" was originally meant to be a song showing love to The East Coast and most of their rising & established artists. Unfortanately, this all changed when the set of the video Tha Dogg Pound were shooting on was fired upon in a Drive-by shooting. After the drive-by, the entire complex, video and purpose of the song was changed entirely as instead of showing loved, Tha Dogg Pound was seen knocking over various buildings around New York City and rapping around or near famous New York landmarks such as The World Trade Center, Times Square, & around various areas in Queens, Manhattan & Brooklyn.
