Muddy Waters is the third studio album from American Hip hop artist Redman, It was released in December 10, 1996 under Def Jam Recordings. Recording sessions took place at Rockin' Reel Recording Studios and Mirror Image in Long Island, New York from November 1995 to September 1996. The production was handled by Erick Sermon, Reggie Noble, Rockwilder, Pras and Jerry "Wonda" Duplessis with co-production by Tyrone Fyffe and Sugarless. It features guest appearances by Xross-Breed, K-Solo, Method Man (of Wu-Tang Clan) and his Def Squad brothers: Keith Murray, Jamal and Erick Sermon.
Muddy Waters spawned the three hit singles: "Pick It Up", "Whateva Man" and "It's Like That (My Big Brother)", music videos were also released for the songs. The album debuted at #12 on the US Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, becoming his second number one on the chart. In February 12, 1997, the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 copies. As of October 2009, the album has 767,000 copies in the United States.
