Mr. Hood is the debut studio album by American hip hop group KMD. It was released on May 14, 1991 through Elektra Records. Recording sessions took place at Calliope Studios in New York City, New York from July 1990 to March 1991. Production was handled entirely by KMD themselves, with additional production from The Stimulated Dummies and DJ Subroc. It includes a guest appearance from Brand Nubian.
Mr. Hood made it to #67 on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #98 on the Pitchfork's Top 100 Favorite Albums of the 1990s. Mr. Hood spawned three singles: "Peachfuzz" (which peaked at #11 on the Hot Rap Songs), "Who Me?" (which peaked at #19 on the Hot Rap Songs) and "Nitty Gritty".
