The song was produced by Lord Finesse, who sampled "Stay With Me" by DeBarge (group members Mark DeBarge and Etterlene Jordan receive writing credits).
"MVP" was released with a music video that uses the "Summer Smooth Mix" by producer Giovanni Salah.
