Luniz (pronounced Loonies) (formerly known as Luniz Toons and LuniTunes) is an American hip hop duo from Oakland, California. formed by West Coast rappers Yukmouth and Numskull in 1992. They were signed to signed to C-Note Records in the same year and debuted on Dru Down's debut Fools from the Streets. In 1993, they got signed to Noo Trybe Records. The group released an internationally successful single in 1995 titled "I Got 5 on It" - two versions of which appeared on the group's debut album Operation Stackola. A third version of the song, featuring Oakland rappers Dru Down, Richie Rich, E-40, Shock G and Spice 1, also gained radio airplay. The song sold over one million copies in the United States alone.
Luniz released two more albums, Lunitik Muzik in 1997 and Silver & Black in 2002, before splitting up. In April 2015, the pair announced that they are reuniting to release the album High Timez.
