Loyal to the Game is the tenth studio album and fifth posthumous studio album by American rapper Tupac Shakur, released in 2004 on Amaru Entertainment. Eminem wrote to Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, asking her to consider letting him produce the album, and he subsequently produced the album in its entirety with the assistance of Luis Resto.
The original versions of the songs were recorded between 1991 and 1994. Eminem used various unusual production techniques during the creation of this album, namely modifying the pace and pitch of Tupac's voice to better suit the production. There were also various uses of the cutting and pasting of vocals to produce new words synonymous with current hip hop music, such as the names "G-Unit", "Obie Trice" and "Em".
Loyal to the Game debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with sales of over 330,000 copies in its first week. It received mixed to positive reviews from critics. The album has since sold 1,204,124 copies in the United States as of 2011.
