The group contributed the song "Renee" to the soundtrack of Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, with the song eventually becoming a major hit and breaking into the Top 40 on the Hot 100 chart.

Following the success of "Renee", Lost Boyz released their debut album, Legal Drug Money, in 1996, and achieved critical and commercial success. Their second album, Love, Peace & Nappiness, was released in 1997, and featured another Hot 100 hit single, "Me & My Crazy World". Mr. Cheeks pursued a solo career, and has since released several albums. In 2004, DJ Spigg Nice was tried and convicted of multiple bank robberies in New Jersey and was sentenced to 37 years in prison. In 2019 they Released the Lost Boyz Next Generation project which featured the hit single "Lost Boyz Anthem".
