William Paul Mitchell (born 21 March 1972), better known by his stage name Large Professor, is an American rapper and record producer from Queens, New York. He is well-known for his tenure in the group Main Source and embarked on a solo career in 1992. He became a mentor of rapper Nas in the early 1990s and produced three songs for his debut Illmatic in 1994. Large Professor's 1996 debut solo album, The LP, was shelved before release, and would not be officially released in 2009.
Large Professor's first solo album released was 1st Class in 2002, followed by Main Source six years later. His latest studio album, RE: Living, was released in 2015.
