Mohandas Dewese (born 8 August 1962), better known by his stage name Kool Moe Dee, is an American rapper, prominent from the late 1970s until the early 1990s. He debuted as a member of the group Treacherous Three, and gained notoriety for his 1981 battle against Busy Bee, one of the earliest documented rap battles. In 1985, the Treacherous Three disbanded, and Kool Moe Dee embarked on a successful solo career. He was one of the first rappers to earn a Grammy Award and was the first rapper to perform at a Grammy Award ceremony. Kool Moe Dee was involved in a highly publicised feud with LL Cool J.
