Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi (born January 30th, 1984), better known by his stage name Kid Cudi (sometimes stylised as KiD CuDi), is an American rapper, record producer and actor from Cleveland, Ohio. Cudi first gained major recognition following the release of his debut mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in 2008. The mixtape caught the attention of Kanye West, who subsequently signed Cudi to his GOOD Music label imprint in late 2008. Cudi has since gone to launch his own record label imprints, including the now-dissolved Dream On and his current independent label Wicked Awesome Records. 

As of 2022, Cudi has released eight studio albums as a solo artist. In 2008, his debut single "Day 'n' Nite" led to prominence when it reached the top five of the Billboard charts. Cudi's debut studio album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, was released in 2009 and later certified gold by the RIAA. In 2010, he released Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, which was preceded by the singles "Erase Me" and "Mr. Rager". Later that year, Cudi formed a rock band, now known as WZRD, with his long-time collaborator Dot da Genius, releasing one eponymous album in early 2012. In April 2013, Cudi released Indicud, which became his highest-charting album on multiple charts. In February 2014, Cudi unexpectedly released his fourth album, Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon, exclusively to digital retailers with no promotion. In December 2015, he released his experimental fifth studio album, Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven, which received a negative to mixed reaction from critics. In December of 2016 he returned to his signature sound when he released his sixth studio album Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin'. In June 2018, Cudi fans were treated with a long dreamt of collaborative album with Kanye West when the two formed a brand new hip-hop super-duo known as KIDS SEE GHOSTS, dropping their debut self-titled album on Kanye West’s 41st birthday. In December of 2020, Kid Cudi fans finally got their hands on the long awaited & almost mythical Man On The Moon III: The Chosen, an entire decade after the release of it’s predecessor! It debuted No. 2 on Billboard’s all-genre 200 chart & No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart becoming his third album to do so. The album received great feedback from critics & fans alike which proved Cudi's continued relevance throughout his career. After a great amount of anticipation, Cudi's eighth studio album Entergalactic, was released in 2022. Entergalactic was a change of pace for Cudi, making an animated Netflix special to support the release of the album. It's voice cast included the likes of himself, Jessica Williams, Ty Dolla $ign, Timothee Chalamet, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Macaulay Culkin, Jaden Smith, 070 Shake, and Keith David. It was an incredibly ambitious animated film, changing animation styles throughout and incorporating the music in a meaningful way. The album itself was backed by two singles, Do What I Want and Willing To Trust (featuring Ty Dolla $ign). The actual album's release on September 30th (same day as the animated special's premier) was recieved with mixed reviews, many criticizing the album for not being able to stand on its own, without the special backing it.

Kid Cudi has, as of October 2022, hinted at his stepping away, or more literally, retirement from music. As he has recently been more involved in television and film, acting more often and making his directorial debut sometime in the future, he stated he has been creatively dry and wants to take a new approach to his creative career. This also alluded to the idea that KIDS SEE GHOSTS 2 will never truly come into fruition, as Kid Cudi and Kanye's beef evolved since it's initation in 2021. His "retirement" was responded to negatively, as millions of fans believed that Entergalactic was a bad album to end his career on, however, Cudi did not shut down the idea of returning to music completely, and so there is a chance this won't be his last album.

Kid Cudi has sold over 5.2 million digital singles and worked with many prominent artists in the music industry. Due to his creativity and conveyed emotions, Cudi has amassed a large cult-like following among high school and college students and stoners.
