Joell Christopher Ortiz (born 6 July 1980) is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He was a member of the supergroup Slaughterhouse. In 2004, he featured in The Source magazine's Unsigned Hype column. He was signed to Aftermath Entertainment, but released his debut album, The Brick: Bodega Chronicles, on independent label Koch in 2007. He left Aftermath in 2008, the same year he joined Slaughterhouse. Ortiz released his second album, Free Agent, in 2011 and his third, House Slippers, in 2014. In 2015, he released the collaborative album, human., with record producer !llmind. The following year, he released his fourth solo album, That's Hip Hop.
