Jamal teamed up with producer Erick Sermon to work on his solo debut, 1995's Last Chance, No Breaks

During the late 1990s, Jamal made appearances on albums by Keith Murray, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Too $hort and Def Squad. Jamal signed to Smoke-A-Lot Records in 2006, but left the label without releasing any material.
