In Control, Volume 1 is the debut album by American hip hop producer Marley Marl, released in 1988 on Cold Chillin' Records. The album features ten songs, all produced by Marley, that feature vocals performed by fellow Juice Crew members and affiliates. It showcased his style of hip hop production and sampling at a time when he became one of the first superproducers in hip hop music. The album is perhaps best remembered for the posse cut "The Symphony".
The album peaked at #163 on the Billboard 200, and #25 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
