Felipe Andres Coronel (born 19 February 1978), better known by his stage name Immortal Technique, is an American rapper and activist from Harlem, Manhattan, New York. Most of his lyrics focus on controversial issues in global politics. The views expressed in his lyrics are largely commentary on issues such as class struggle, socialism, poverty, religion, government, imperialism and institutional racism.

Born in Lima, Peru, his family emigrated to Harlem in 1980. After finishing a one-year prison sentence for assault-related offences as a teenager, he began selling his music on the streets of New York and battling with MCs in numerous freestyle rap competitions. Technique released his debut album, Revolutionary Vol. 1, in 2001 without the help of a record label or distribution, instead using money earned from his rap battle triumphs. It was followed by Revolutionary Vol. 2 in 2003. His latest studio album, The 3rd World, was released in 2008 as the final album in the series.

Immortal Technique visits prisons to speak to youth and work with immigrant rights activists. In 2008, he teamed up with non-profit human rights organisation Omeid International to help build an orphanage to Kabul, Afghanistan using the profits made from his album The 3rd World
