I Wish My Brother George Was Here is the debut solo studio album by American rapper and Hieroglyphics member Del tha Funkee Homosapien, released in October 22, 1991 under Elektra Records. After securing a record deal due to his association with his cousin Ice Cube, Recording sessions took place at Echo Sound Recording in Los Angeles, California from July 1990 to April 1991. Production was handled by Del, Ice Cube, and Boogiemen (a duo consisting of DJ Pooh and Rashad Coes).
The album debuted at #24 on the Heatseekers Albums chart and #48 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States. I Wish My Brother George Was Here released the singles: "Sleepin' on My Couch", "Mistadobalina" and "Dr. Bombay". The album was released to positive reviews, and has since become one of Del's most highly regarded albums.
