I Am... is the third studio album by American rapper Nas, released in April 6, 1999 on Columbia Records. The album was originally a double album titled I Am... The Autobiography, but most of the original sessions were bootlegged and Nas was forced to discard many songs, reducing it to a single disc release. I Am... became one of the first major label releases to be widely leaked using MP3 technology. Some of the leaked songs were later released on the compilation album The Lost Tapes in 2002.

The two singles from I Am... were "Hate Me Now" and "Nas Is Like". The former features Puff Daddy and became a Billboard Hot 100 hit, although its Hype Williams-directed music video generated controversy. The latter is one of two songs from the album produced by DJ Premier, and was popular amongst underground circles and continued a long list of popular Nas and DJ Premier collaborations. The song "We Will Survive", a tribute to Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., features a diss aimed at Jay-Z, who claimed to be "New York's king". The record has been cited as potentially encouraging the Jay-Z-Nas feud.

I Am... debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 470,000 copies in its first week. Upon its release, the album received generally mixed to positive reviews from music critics. It was mainly criticized for the album's production, although some critics believe that the album would have sounded better if certain songs were not removed due to leaking.
