Dwight Errington Myers (24 May 1967 - 8 November 2011), better known by his stage name Heavy D, was a Jamaican-born American rapper, record producer, singer, actor, and former leader of the hip hop group Heavy D & the Boyz. The group maintained a large fanbase in the United States throughout the 1990s, and released five albums as a group before disbanding after their 1994 album Nuttin' But Love. Heavy D recorded several solo albums before passing away on the 8th of November 2011 due to pulmonary embolism.
