Prince of Darkness is the fourth studio album by American rapper Big Daddy Kane. It was released on October 29, 1991 via Cold Chillin' Records, Reprise Records and Warner Bros. Records. Recording sessions took place at Battery Studios, The Hit Factory and Chung King Studios in New York City from November 1990 to August 1991. Production was handled by TR Love, Michael Warner, Mister Cee, Michael Stokes and Big Daddy Kane himself. It includes guest appearances from Q-Tip (of A Tribe Called Quest), Alyson Williams, Busta Rhymes (of Leaders of the New School), Lil' Daddy Shane and Laree Williams.
The album peaked at #57 on the Billboard 200 and #25 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Prince of Darkness released the singles: "Raw '91", "Groove with It" and "The Lover in You" (which both songs charted on the Hot Rap Singles chart, reaching #2 and #28 respectively).
