Joseph Williams Jr. (born June 22, 1962), better known by his stage name Just-Ice, is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York. A former bouncer at punk clubs, Just-Ice was the first New York rapper to embrace gangsta rap and was among the first rappers to embrace the teachings of the Nation of Gods and Earths.
He released his debut album Back to the Old School in 1986 on Fresh/Sleeping Bag Records, and was produced by Kurtis Mantronik of Mantronix. When Mantronik left the label, KRS-One stepped in to produce Just-Ice's following albums Kool & Deadly (Justicizms) in 1987 and The Desolate One in 1989. Just-Ice also appeared on the song "Self Destruction" in 1989 as part of a project led by KRS-One called the Stop the Violence Movement.
Just-Ice continued to release albums at intervals across the 1990s, but they were on small independent labels and did not acheive either critical or commercial success. In recent years, Just-Ice has released several white label 12-inch singles and teamed up with KRS-One to release The Just-Ice & KRS-One EP Volume #1 in 2010.
