Jason Akeil Johnson (9 December 1981 – 19 May 2003), better known by his stage name Camoflauge, was an American rapper from Savannah, Georgia. Johnson began his rap career as a member of the group Crime Affiliates and released the album Crime Pay$ in 1999. When Johnson's debut solo album I Represent, released on the independent label Pure Pain in 2000, managed to sell over 50,000 copies, Universal Records offered Johnson a distribution deal. However, Johnson was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and Universal decided not to pick up the option on his contract after the release of his 2001 album Strictly 4 da Streets (Drugs, Sex & Violence, Vol. 1). Johnson was fatally shot after leaving the Pure Pain studios on 19 May 2003. His murderer has never been caught.
