Patrick Lamark Hawkins (December 4, 1970 - February 3, 1998), better known by his stage name Fat Pat, was an American rapper from Houston, Texas. He was a member of Dead End Alliance with his older brother Big Hawk, Kay-K, and DJ Screw, and was also an original member of DJ Screw's crew Screwed Up Click. Fat Pat was a staple in the Houston music scene and was one of the most prominent members of the Screwed Up Click.
In March 1997, Fat Pat signed to Wreckshop Records. His debut album was slated to be released in early 1998, but Fat Pat was fatally shot once in the head on 3 February 1998 at the Meadows Southwest Apartments in southwest Houston when he had gone to collect money from a promoter.
His debut album, Ghetto Dreams, was released one month after his death and has since sold 100,000 copies to date. A second studio album credited to Fat Pat & The Wreckshop Family, entitled Throwed in da Game, was released on April 1998, but only had four songs featuring Fat Pat while the rest were performed by his Wreckshop labelmates. A compilation album, Fat Pat's Greatest Hits, was released in 2001. There is no unreleased Fat Pat material in existence.[1]
