Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986) is a Canadian rapper, singer, record producer, and actor from Toronto, Ontario. He first garnered recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. He later rose to prominence as a rapper, releasing several mixtapes before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment on June 2009.

In 2009, Drake's EP, So Far Gone, spawned the hit single "Best I Ever Had" and the moderate hit "Successful". His first studio album, Thank Me Later, was released in 2010 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. His next two albums, 2011's Take Care and 2013's Nothing Was the Same, were worldwide successes, with certifications of quadruple and triple platinum respectively in U.S. sales, and the former also earning him his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. They were followed by two mixtapes, with the trap influenced If You're Reading This It's Too Late and the Future collaboration What a Time to Be Alive, in 2015. Both mixtapes achieved widespread commercial success, with the former being certified double platinum in the U.S., as well as to rave critical reception. Drake released his fourth album, Views, in 2016, breaking numerous chart records in the process. It stayed at the top of the Billboard 200 for ten nonconsecutive weeks, becoming the first album by a solo male to do so in over ten years. It also saw Drake lead the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 simultaneously for eight weeks, breaking the previous record of seven held by both Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. It also achieved triple platinum status in the U.S. and earned over one million album-equivalent units in the first week of its release.

Drake has sold over five million albums worldwide. His work has earned him a Grammy award, three Juno Awards, six BET Awards, and set several significant Billboard records. With twelve number-one singles, Drake has more than any other artist on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart. He also has more number-one singles than any other rapper on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with ten, passing Jay-Z in August 2012.
