Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em (1990) |
Don't Sweat the Technique is the fourth album by American hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim, released in 1992 on MCA Records. The album builds on the sounds of their 1990 album Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em, with Rakim sounding more aggressive over the jazzy, soulful production. It is the duo's final album together, as their contract with MCA expired after its release.
Although the album's production is credited to the duo, Large Professor, Rich Simmons and Rashan also lent a hand in producing the album. Rakim produced six songs, and even played the drums on the song "Know the Ledge". Eric B. only produced one song, which was the opening track "What's On Your Mind".[1]
The album debuted at #22 on the Billboard 200, and charted at #9 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The title track was also a minor radio hit. "Know the Ledge", which was also released as a single, appeared in the film Juice and its soundtrack under the name "Juice (Know the Ledge)".
