Delano (born Delano Cagnolatti, Jr. in California) is an American rap/R&B recording artist, singer, lyricist, and producer. Not to be confused with a rapper known as Delano Brown, his start in music began after he met Snoop Dogg and would be an occasional protege`. Signing with Reprise Records, Delano recorded his self-titled cassette in 1993. But for some reason, the ball was dropped at the label and it's release was withheld. He'd return in 1997 with Let's Make Love, which he executive-produced. In 2000, he released a single titled "Nothin'" and was featured on CZR's own single, "I Want You" that same year. In 2002, he attempted to audition for American Idol and he made it to becoming among the finalists, at first. But then, was sent home for lying about his age on his application he filled out, claiming to be 23 when he was really 29, breaking the rule of the age limit being 24. The next year, he collaborated with Snoop Dogg, E-White, and actor/comedian Jamie Kennedy (a.k.a. B-Rad) on the promotional single, "Girls, Girls", from the soundtrack to the 2003 film, Malibu's Most Wanted. He made a feature appearance on the song, 'What's Your Fantasy", from Snoop Dogg's 2004 album, Welcome To the Chuuch, Vol. 2. Under his full name, Delano released his last album to date, Cagnolatti, in 2005 on Recipe Records. It contained collaborations with Snoop Dogg, the late Rick James, and the late Melvin "Wah Wah" Watson. That same year, he was featured on "Release" with JJ Flores and Steve Smooth from Erick Morillo's 2003 Subliminal Winter Sessions album, "Glitter Ain't Gold" with Tray Dee and E-White from Goldie Loc's Loc'd Up album, and "B-More to CT" with Muyi from Pruven's 1st Words: Earn Everything album from 2010.
