Dah Shinin' is the debut studio album by American hip hop duo Smif-N-Wessun, released in January 10, 1995 under Wreck Records and Nervous Records. After members Tek and Steele made their debut on Black Moon's 1993 album Enta da Stage, the group signed to Wreck Records in 1992. Recording sessions mostly took place at D&D Studios in New York City during 1993 and 1994. Production was handled entirely by Da Beatminerz members: DJ Evil Dee, Mr. Walt, Rich Blak and Baby Paul. It features guest appearances by Buckshot, Heltah Skeltah, O.G.C. and Jahdan Blakkmore (as members of the formed supergroup Boot Camp Clik).
The album peaked at #59 on the Billboard 200 and #5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Dah Shinin' spawned the six charted singles: "Bucktown" (which reached #93 on the Hot 100 and #14 on the Hot Rap Songs charts), "Let's Git It On", "Sound Bwoy Bureill, "Wontime", "Wreckonize" and "Stand Strong". It has since become one of the most heralded mid-1990s New York hip hop albums because of its hardcore lyrical content and dark production. The album has sold over 300,000 copies in the United States.
