Darryl Pittman, better known by his stage name DR Period (alternatively stylised as D.R. Period or D/R Period), is an American record producer, DJ and rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He began his career as a producer for M.O.P., producing nearly the entirety of the duo's 1994 debut album To the Death. He would go on to produce for a variety of East Coast hip hop artists during the late 1990s, such as AZ, Onyx, Public Enemy, Shyheim, Smoothe da Hustler and Flatlinerz. As a producer, he is perhaps best known for producing M.O.P.'s "Ante Up" from their 2000 album Warriorz.
He embarked on a solo career in 2004, releasing two singles on his label RockBoy Records: "What's Ya Problem!" and "Throw It", both of which he produced and had featured artists perform vocals. He also released the single "D.R.'s in Here", which featured his rap debut. In 2012, he released the single, "Money", which was featured in an episode of the television series Breaking Bad.
