Albert Leroy Moss (14 August 1969 - 10 September 2001), better known by his stage name DJ Uncle Al, was an American rapper and DJ from Miami, Florida. He was well known in his area for his philosophy of "peace in the hood" and pacification in the rap community, as well as for his prolific output and innovative abilities in music production.
Moss was assassinated and killed by Darnen Fabian Watson on 10 September 2001 as a result of a quarrel between two Miami radio stations. Following his death, festivals have taken place annually to promote his "peace in the hood" philosophy. His death happened only one day prior to the worst terrorist attack America had ever seen, which would happen only a day later, on September 11, 2001.
