Bobby F. Ervin (born December 13, 1967), better known by his stage name Bobcat (commonly credited as Bobby "Bobcat" Ervin), is an American record producer, DJ and rapper from Los Angeles, California.
Ervin began his career as a DJ for the Los Angeles-based party crew Uncle Jamm's Army. The group's founder, Roger Clayton, introduced Ervin to the production team L.A. Posse, and Ervin joined the group. L.A. Posse rose to prominence after producing the entirety of LL Cool J's second album Bigger and Deffer in 1987. In 1989, Bobcat attempted to embark on a solo career as a recording artist, releasing the album Cat Got Ya Tongue on Arista Records in 1989.
In the 1990s, Bobcat became a highly sought after producer on the West Coast and produced for a number of high profile artists, including 2Pac, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Mack 10 and MC Ren.
