Buhloone Mindstate is the third studio album by American hip hop group De La Soul, released in September 21, 1993 on Tommy Boy Entertainment. It was the last album by the group to be produced by Prince PaulBuhloone is a phonetic spelling of "balloon", and the theme of the album is laid out in the intro track, which starts with the sound of a balloon being inflated while the phrase "it might blow up, but it won't go pop"; lending to the interpretation that the group hope to expand their popularity with their third album without selling out.

De La Soul continued their experimentations with jazz by featuring veteran jazz musicians Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis. Japanese hip hop artists Scha Dara Parr and Takagi Kan feature on the song "Long Island Wildin'", while Biz Markie makes an appearance on "Stone Age". De La Soul affiliate Shortie No Mass appears frequently throughout the album. Guru makes a spoken cameo on "Patti Dooke", and Dres makes an appearance on "En Focus".

The album peaked at #40 on the Billboard 200, and #9 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. At the time, it was De La Soul's worst commercial performance, although the album received positive reviews from critics.
