Born Gangstaz is the only debut studio album by American Hip hop female artist Bo$$. It was released on May 25, 1993 via Def Jam Recordings, Columbia Records, Choas and Sony Music Entertainment. Recording sessions took place at Beat Street Studios in North Hollywood, M'Bila Recording Studios, Westlake Audio and Mad Hatter Studios in Los Angeles and at Rockin' Reel Studios, Ian London Studios and Chung King Studios in New York City from April 1992 to February 1993. Production was handled by Jam Master Jay, AMG, Stone Tha Lunatic, MC Serch, Mic Professah, T-Ray, Def Jef and Erick Sermon, with co-production from Courtney Branch and Tracy Kendrick. It features guest appearances by Onyx, Erick Sermon, Admiral D, AMG and Papa Juggy.
The album peaked at #22 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Born Gangstaz spawned the singles: "Progress of Elimination", "I Don't Give a Fuck", "Mai Sista Izza Bitch, "Deeper" (which reached #65 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot Rap Singles) and "Recipe of a Hoe" (which debuted at #1 on the Hot Rap Singles). The album was success. Born Gangstaz has sold over 378,000 copies to date.
